Week 5

Four weeks gone and so that's one third of the Challenge completed.  There have been some lovely, and inventive, makes so far.

Week 4

The Challenge is now into its fourth week and it has been nice to see what folks have been creating with their stash so far.

While not exactly crafty, I found some more rhubarb in the freezer so have got a second batch of rhubarb infused gin on the go, but without the ginger this time. I'm not usually a gin drinker but it is rather nice (even if I do say so myself).  I suppose I have been a wee bit crafty as I have been making tags to go on the bottles of my last concoctions (small batches of Turkish Delight Gin, Raspberry Vodka, Violet Gin, Lavender & Rose Gin) and colouring with Distress Inks in colours to match the contents.  I was going to design some labels but thought the tags would be easier. 

I have a box I've been working on for an 18th Birthday present that should have been finished by now but I'm still trying to work out if I like it or not.  I've put it away for a few days while I try and get some fresh inspiration to complete it!  Which reminds me - I really must find where I put the hinges and catch!

Week 2

I had hoped to post a couple of makes last week but had a bit of a disaster when the fairy houses I was painting & put outside to dry ended up being caught in a downpour while I was out shopping.

Note to self.  Make sure you check the weather forecast before you end up trying to dry things in the rain!

Week 1 - The Challenge Begins

If you haven't already done it, now is the time to start rummaging through your stash to see what you have that you can use, you could even have a declutter as you go.  Remember, once the challenge starts there must be no more crafty stash orders, apart from bare essentials, placed until the end of the challenge on 26 November. 

In case of emergency and temptation strikes, just take a very deep breath, grit your teeth and think of the money you will be saving!

Over to you now, the challenge has begun so time to get crafting.

Welcome to The 3-Month Craft Challenge

Members of the CCDCU Facebook Group have been given a 3-Month Challenge not to buy any more new items for their craft stash and only use the crafty goodies that they already have.  You all know the ones I mean: the ones that you really, really "needed" about 3 (or more) years ago but now languish at the back of a cupboard or at the bottom of a drawer since you bought them.  There may even be some stash lying long-forgotten since you last clapped eyes on it when you put it in the attic pre-millennium because it may come in useful one day!

The challenge will begin on Monday 27 August 2018 and will last for 3 months until Monday 26 November 2018.

Any craft can be used, be it card making, mixed media, sewing, knitting, jewellery absolutely anything you can make something with from your stash is fair game.

Only items purchased no later than Sunday 26 August 2018 can be used, although if you need basic essentials like glue, tape or thread that's ok.

Just think, this could be the time to start those C*******s cards and presents - think of the money you could save to make personal pressies for friends and loved ones.

I will be using the InLinz tool to allow participants to add their pictures. Images can be added from your phone/pc, linked to your personal blog or a picture sharing site like Instagram or Pinterest.

A new link will be published every week so you can show what you've made in the previous 7 days.

I have added a practice link on this page so you can get yourselves familiar with it.  Any problems, please give me a shout:
